Disappointed
Started the day with an interview for an Austrian journalist named Martin Schauhuber who had contacted me to find out about the fan village we are staying at in Rawdat al Jahanniya .
Catching up
On the ride we met some interesting folks also as I’ve said everyone is so friendly , for the most part . Philip was one of them , he is an Australian who supports the Sydney Ice Dogs in the AIHL and we talked about my buddy Justin Harrison who is a goalie for the Sydney Bears
Beer in Qatar
When I woke up it was go time to get to the English pub and get myself prepped for the England vs USA match .
FIFA World Cup
Its been such an emotional time for me , seeing Canada at the World Cup and being around so many people from around the world all having fun while connecting with people I had met online months ago
My First World Cup
The atmosphere was electric and I shed a tear or two during our anthem then the game kicked off . Our boys played their hearts out against one of the best teams in the world !
The Route to Qatar
Apparently there was a lineup of fans complaining and angry as they didn’t have rooms set up yet , one of the workers told her that people are not showing up for their shifts and lots of people had quit !
Short Story
Going to Qatar tomorrow to watch the World Cup and it doesn’t sound like beer is offered too openly .
Sunshine Tours Oman
The mosque is rather new so it’s not quite historical but the beauty of it and the people there shone through with every glimmer .

Next thing I know one of the locals sat beside me and we started talking football and not the football that has you throwing an egg shaped ball
Fantastic Voyage
Being a goalie and air travel don’t always mix well but my flight over to Oman was quite painless thanks to my friend Marko W. who hooked me up with Elite status for Air Canada
Oman or Bust
So the plan now is that I play in my 44th country which will be Oman and then the 3rd country this year

As mentioned in my previous blog post that was posted a couple days later ( shaking fist at editor Stro ) most of the things happening I shouldn’t write about since its all gonna be part of a book that Ronnie is writing so ….
It’s been a while…
Its been a while since I’ve done any blogging thanks to the pandemic I had to stop travelling and actually even had to stop playing hockey for quite some time . Its all good as that’s the past and we are all onto new beginnings .
